How to Distinguish

  • Cars drive on the left side
  • Domain is .bw
  • Roads with initials "A" or "B" in their road numbers
  • Signs and guardrails with yellow and black stripes are common
  • Roads have a rough surface, and the roadside is orange
  • 70% of the country's land overlaps with the Kalahari Desert, making the entire country flat
  • Some old signs have a blue background color

Signs you can find

There are white, blue, and yellow number plates. Ordinary vehicles have numbers in yellow, while some public service vehicles and taxis have rear plates in blue. Additionally, some guardrails and sign poles have yellow and black stripes.

There is the Kalahari Desert and a flat landscape all around. Most areas are sparsely populated with shrubs and grasses. Few trees grow on either side of the paved roads.

Trans-Kalahari Highway

Road numbers with “A” or “B”. Lesotho has similar road numbers, but unlike Lesotho, Botswana is quite flat. There are not many roads, so if there are signs and intersections, you might be able to score 5,000 points.
