How to Distinguish
- The domain ends with .pr
- Both Spanish and English are used
- Cars usually carry plates only on the rear
- You can find chunky, square utility poles
- In imagery captured before 2023 the Google Car antenna sits toward the right(by Geotips )
- Telephone numbers often begin with 787
Signs you can find
There are no cars with a front license plate. Thick square poles sometimes have colored paint near the base. In 2014–2023 imagery the left half of the plate looks dark while the right half is pale.

Speed limit signs use MPH, but roadside distance markers stay in kilometers. Likely, major highways were laid out in the Spanish era using kilometers, and the United States later added MPH speed limits when cars became widespread.
Highway shields come in a few styles. The circular shields usually cover numbers from 100 up to the 9000s(References List of highways in Puerto Rico).
