Hi-Life and Family Mart often show store names in Japanese style(References FamilyMart Taiwan). Store names often include area and street names, which can narrow down locations. OK Mart is also a Taiwan clue.

Roads often use red or yellow lines. Like Korea, utility poles use diagonal stripes.

Concrete block walls and retaining walls are common.

Distinctive road signs appear.

Very long, large buildings may be semiconductor factories.

The first letter near the base of the pole plate indicates latitude: closer to “A” means farther north, closer to “W” means farther south.

Lowlands get warmer as you go south, so palm trees become more common. In mountainous areas, they often disappear.
