In Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the Google Car's camera sits lower than usual, which makes bollards look somehow larger.

Bollards are white with a black stripe. They come in several shapes — round, angular, or cut at an angle. A white-and-black bollard with a round head like this is almost never seen outside Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

License plates have a distinctive look, but heavy mosaic blurring makes them hard to read. Most cars show a plain white plate without a blue stripe.

The crosswalk sign shows seven stripes, and crosswalks themselves are yellow.

Signs are often enclosed in a pipe frame.

Fire hydrants have a distinctive look — grey with a red top, though the colour varies.

Wooden houses with a triangular roof, typical of the Alps, are common here.

The west speaks French, the north and centre speak German, and the south speaks Italian.

The wording on the general speed-limit sign tells you which language is spoken in that region.
