Rear license plates are a large yellow. Motorcycles sometimes have no front plate, but still carry a large yellow plate on the back.

Both English and Swahili are used.

Perhaps because it was once a British protectorate, signs look similar to those in the UK. They're not very common in cities though.

The Google Car is distinctive and comes in a few variants. Sometimes the roof rack is visible, sometimes there's a black snorkel-like part (a vehicle snorkel), and sometimes the side mirrors show. Some cars are black.

Notable local companies include STEERS (fast food), Safaricom (telecom), and Java (a coffee brand, apparently). Safaricom in particular is fairly visible around town.

Along the eastern coast, thin palm-like trees grow.

Trees with flat tops seem common in the northwest.

Reddish-brown, dry ground with sparse, thorny, low shrubs and almost no farmland means the dry north-to-east region. It looks clearly different from the highlands around and west of Nairobi, with their green fields and tea plantations.

Yellow-green shrubs, trimmed flat at about waist height, blanketing a hillside like a carpet mean a tea plantation (Kericho and others).

Huge greenhouses covered in white plastic are cut-flower farms. The biggest concentration is on the south and east shores of Lake Naivasha. There's little Street View there to begin with, so you won't see them often (satellite imagery shows quite a lot).

Grayish-green, sword-shaped leaves 1.5-2m tall, radiating out from a central rosette, planted in straight rows going on and on across dry, flat land, mean a sisal plantation. No need to memorise this.

Knee-to-waist-high plants with long, pointed leaves radiating outward, packed in row after row of red soil, mean a pineapple field. There are large plantations around Thika, northeast of Nairobi.
