How to Distinguish
- The domain is .se
- Lane-edge dashed lines on the shoulder are very short Nordic edge lines
- The pedestrian-warning sign shows a crossing with four stripes
- Deep red (Falu red) timber houses are iconic
- Arrow-shaped direction signs are distinctive—less like a perfect ▷(from 『【GeoGuessr】公認プレイヤーによる国当て完全解説! - Daig_O』)
- Street names often end with gatan (“street”) or vägen (“road”)
Signs you can find

Sweden and Norway are full of log houses painted in deep red (Falu red) .

The pedestrian crossing sign has four stripes. From left to right: Finland, Norway, Sweden.
Swedish direction arrows have a unique silhouette—noticeably different from the neat ▷ used in neighbouring countries(from 『【GeoGuessr】公認プレイヤーによる国当て完全解説!』).

Chevron boards use the national colours (yellow/blue). Norway and Finland use yellow on black, so they are easy to distinguish (参考文献 Map of European Road Curve Chevron Signs).
Route numbers appear on yellow background signs with an inset version of the national flag colours .
Beware of confusing Sweden with the Åland Islands (Finland), which use Swedish language and similar signage.
Street names ending with gatan (“street”) or vägen (“road”) point to Swedish. Street blades — even “gatu” forms — are rare elsewhere.

One-way zones are labelled “Enkelriktad zon”. Compare the wording across the Nordic languages:
| Language | Phrase |
|---|---|
| Swedish | Det här är en enkelriktad zon. |
| Norwegian | Dette er en enveiskjøringssone. |
| Danish | Dette er en ensrettet zone. |
| Finnish | Tämä on yksisuuntainen alue. |
Narrow down state/region
- Numbers on guide signs denote the highway number
(参考文献 Reading subtle road numbers)
- Two-digit routes run south–north (9–99); three-digit numbers continue the sequence (roughly 100–400)(by syamu_0304 )
- Area codes can narrow down the location
- Vegetation and soil colour change by region:
Numbers printed on the sign itself correspond to the route number (参考文献 Reading subtle road numbers).
