Narrow down state/region

  • Town-name endings hint at north vs. south, though not perfectly reliable
  • Area codes can help if you memorise them—beware of numbers beginning with 72, 45, 88 etc. as these are mobile ranges. They are rare but useful.

Suffixes  Ewo Eor  Eno Elean north;  Eów Eor  Eew Eare more central or southern, roughly matching the historical divide between Greater and Lesser Poland (参考文献 History of Poland) (参考文献 Lesser Poland).

22x belongs to Warsaw. I memorise a simple rule: ignoring the 8 in mobile codes, larger numbers trend to the north-west. The landscape is often flat, so if road numbers, place names, or area codes are unclear I usually guess the centre. Do not rely solely on the first digit because mobile codes exist (参考文献 Telephone numbers in Poland - Mobile codes).
