How to Distinguish
- Vehicles drive on the left side.
- The Dzongkha language (རྫོང་ཁ) is used.
- Domain is .bt.
- License plates are mostly red, with yellow and white also seen.

- If the Google Car is gray and driving on the left, it's confirmed to be Bhutan.(by plonk it )
- Buildings with many uniformly arranged windows are present.
Signs you can find
Colorful prayer flags called Lungta, which feature scriptures, or white mourning flags called Darshing are visible. ( About Bhutan's Religion - Dragon Tours).
Most vehicles have red license plates. Vehicles presumed to be taxis sometimes have yellow plates. .

Narrow down city/town
- In the Gelephu area, the terrain is flat, with palm-like trees. Non-red license plates are common. Check for high mountains to the north.
Even in flat areas, Lungta flags are found in front of houses, and cars are gray.
